With the internet and related technologies, national boundaries has become non relevant. With a view to expand the firm beyond borders, enterprises are boarding staffs around the globe, so that distinct needs of customers in each locality can well be known through the employees hailing from those respective locations. But while doing so, cultures of different employees interact with each other. Here comes the adaptability of a person to get familiarize with and to get indulged with different cultures without any element of misunderstandings or conflict. In an effective communication, there should be a free flow of ideas among the participants. Obviously, there will be a clash of ideas among different personalities. So, in order to arrive at a common conclusion which satisfies the views/opinions of all the parties involved, one and the most important skill that has to be practiced is active listening. Active listening becomes upmost important because it may help us to get some valuable insights about the topic from other's perspective. In an organization, decision making is not the responsibility of a single person. It's a team- work. For example, if a manager of a supply chain enterprise wants to segment their customers according to their life style, he cannot take decisions of his own.
